The Abstract
Boundaries
in Transition.
Original works by Stu Perry
Exploring the relationship between urban and non-urban worlds, this series of paintings attempts to reveal their subtle yet constant encroachment upon one another.
Urban landscapes, with their grids, sharp lines, and relentless growth, impose their structure upon the natural world, while untamed, organic elements strive to reclaim their space, often interrupted by the harshness of human contrivance and control.
There is an ongoing conflict between these worlds, with each pushing against the other, asserting dominance or submission, and evolving in response to the shifting influences of time, progress, and tradition.
Ultimately, it’s an attempt to capture the essence of landscape and our self imposed boundaries - real or imagined - and in some way to capture the tension between that, and the natural world that will inevitably triumph.
